At the time it was built, the Bradley West Gates and Bradley West Core combined into the largest project ever awarded by the City of Los Angeles. It consisted of 300,000 square feet of renovation and 1,000,000 square feet of new construction, including fifteen gates, with nine accommodating the Airbus A380 aircraft, vertical transportation, baggage handling systems, extensive underground utilities, and apron paving. This beautiful extension of the Tom Bradley International Terminal provides a significant architectural gateway to international passengers entering the country. Engineering News Record named TBIT as the Best Project in its Airports/Transit category.
